CATAWBA ISLAND - While the snow may have been making the roads a bit of a mess this past weekend, it was just the right kind of weather for family fun at “Winter Fest.”
On Saturday, Twin Oast Brewing hosted its inaugural Winter Fest celebration, an event packed full of food, fun and, of course, beer.
With a nice coating of snow, Twin Oast’s scenic 60-acre property on Catawba Island made for an ideal setting celebrations, as both children and adults were able to take advantage of the hills to do some sledding and snow tubing.
Throughout the daylong event, Twin Oast held friendly competitions and snow day activities for families to participate in. Twin Oast partnered with Homage, a vintage apparel company based out of Cleveland, who offered a variety of prizes for the winning families.
Twin Oast also used Winter Fest as an opportunity to release their seasonal brew, “Ice Shove,” a Belgian white IPA with rosemary and apple.
“This is one that we could do in the winter, but still use some of our farm produce, which is a big draw,” said Cory Smith, co-founder of Twin Oast Brewing.
